Shreyaskar, a dance academy, has recently been established under the directorship
and guidance of Smt. Rani Karnaa, who is also the honorary convener of
Sangeet and Nritya Sikshan Bharati of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Calcutta.
Much honoured, one can list the President's Gold Medal in 1955, the Order of the Queen
of Laos in 1964 and the Vijay Ratna in 1990. She has been nominated a Senior Fellow in the
Field of Kathak dance by the
Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
She was felicitated by the Akhil Bharatiya Sindhi Boli and Sahitya Sabha in June 1998.
Honoured with the Sangeet Natak Akademi award for her contribution to Kathak,
Rani Karnaa is a renowned exponent of our time.
